BLYTHEWOOD GIRLS ON THE RISE

Even though Blythewood’s girls soccer team has yet to produce a winning record, the Bengals are moving up each season.

They were 7-13 and won a Class 3A playoff game in their inaugural season two years ago. Last season, Blythewood improved to 9-14 and beat Seneca and Dreher in the playoffs before losing to Riverside in the third round.

This season, Blythewood has the players to go even farther and a No. 10 ranking in Class 3A

Coach Tony King has nine starting players returning, led by seniors Sara Graber, Lindsay Taylor.

Taylor, who moved to Blythewood after starting her high school career in California, made the all-Region 3-3A team last season as a forward.
