Tony King– Head Coach Girls Soccer Program
This will be Coach Tony King’s Fourth year as head coach of the BHS Girls Soccer Program. In addition to his work at Blythewood High School, Coach King is also currently enjoying his second year coaching with the Columbia United Football Club serving as the coach for their U-17 and U-15 Crescent girls teams. Previously, Coach King served as the Head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach for the Girls Soccer program at Ridge View High School and as Co-Coach for the Congaree Rapid U-17 Girls soccer team. Supplemental to his soccer coaching experience Coach King also previously worked at Hunter-Kinard-Tyler and Scott’s Branch High schools with their JV and Varsity Football programs. As a 1986 graduate of Sumter High School he was a four-year varsity starter for a successful Gamecock soccer program. Following high school he attended Lenoir-Rhyne College where he played soccer for two years, earning a starting position at the beginning of his sophomore year. Graduating with a BA in History and a North Carolina Teaching Certificate he returned to South Carolina with his wife to begin their teaching careers. He has two children who along with Coach King and his wife welcome you to what is expected to be a very exciting fourth season of Bengal Ball.
